WHAT:
"Yo! What Happened to Peace?"
An exhibition of contemporary pro-peace, anti-war & anti-occupation posters, designed to spread the message of non-violence and showcase the beauty of hand-crafted printing.
WHEN/WHERE:
For "Yo! What Happened to Peace?" in New York City at Ogilvy and Mather, July 17th, 2008.
WHO:
Artists and designers who think that war and occupation are not solutions to the problems in the world today.
HOW:
TO SUBMIT A PRINT, PLEASE SEND A JPG OF THE IMAGE TO submit@yoshow.org.
Be sure to read the details below. If your piece is selected, the physical print must be received by Oct 15, so we recommend you email your JPG files by Oct 1, 2007.
TO ARTISTS OUTSIDE THE U.S. - SPECIAL NOTE- WE ARE WORKING ON HAVING A U.K. ADDRESS TO RECEIVE PRINTS. FOR NOW, PLEASE EMAIL US AND WE WILL GIVE YOU THE U.K. ADDRESS WHEN WE GET IT.
DETAILS FOR SUBMISSIONS:
1. Posters must be handcraft printed, meaning almost any printing technology besides commercial offset or digital printing (which are great, but this is a slightly different kinda show). We're looking for silkscreen, stencil, letterpress, block print, lithograph, etc. Contact us if you have questions.
2. Posters must fit the theme of peace and anti-war.
3. All print sizes welcome. Please send unframed, not rolled if possible.
4. Submissions will not be returned, and if accepted, one copy will become part of the permanent Yo! collection.
5. Sales arrangements for short editions must be made in advance. Please let us know if you have prints available for sale.
